Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot
I love this quote, but not as much as I am loving the cooler weather that has finally decided to grace us. It has been a miserably hot summer and I have been looking forward to the change of seasons. So glad it’s here!
Autumn is my favorite time of year, with it’s crisp cool air, brightly colored foliage, cozy evenings, and excitement of family gatherings and celebrations to come. I find that my inspiration picks up as the temperatures cool down. I had a lovely afternoon with the windows open, a fall candle burning, decorating the house and planning fall crafts. I am already looking forward to a nice cup of warm coffee in the morning!
Because I so enjoyed decorating it, here is my newly updated seasonal mantle:
The pennant garland was super easy to make, no tutorial needed! Just cut triangles of burlap, write what you wish with permanent marker, and hot-glue them to your choice of ribbon or string. Rick rack would be cute, too!
1) Chunky hats! Love ’em.
2) BOOTS. That is all.
3) Gorgeous centerpieces inspired by nature.
4) Pumpkins and leaves galore!
5) Fun activities for the whole family!
6) Hot, steaming coffee. Need I say more?
7) Cozy scarves.
